What Would You Like the World to Learn About Human Trafficking? How Do You Think People Can Best Support Survivors?
S: “I think the world needs to learn that human trafficking is happening everywhere — even in the United States.
People can best support survivors by believing them and understanding that they are the victims. It doesn’t matter what they are wearing or what they look like — no one deserves to be sex trafficked.”
What Are Your Dreams and Goals in Life? What Are You Looking Forward to In the Future?
S: “My dreams and goals are to complete my Bachelor’s degree (while remaining on honor roll) and possibly earn my Master’s degree in Women’s Studies. My long-term goal is to open a safe house equipped to support survivors recovering from complex trauma.”
Do You Consider Yourself a Survivor? Why?
S: “Yes, but I consider myself more of a thriver because I have overcome the obstacles of being sex trafficked and having learning disabilities. I am thriving emotionally, physically, and spiritually.”
Of What Accomplishment Are You Most Proud?
S: “That I found my voice and am able to speak up and say that what happened to me was wrong.”
We love supporting courageous survivors in their passions and dreams! Nothing brings us more joy than seeing beauty come from ashes. Join us in supporting Stephanie today!
