United Nations’ Report on Human Trafficking

“Child soldiers, forced labor, sexual slavery—modern day slavery has taken on horrific dimensions as armed groups and terrorists use it to spread fear and gain victims to offer as incentives to recruit new fighters.”

Nadia Murad, a survivor of human trafficking and recent Nobel Peace Prize recipient, motivated the United Nations to investigate human trafficking on the global scale. The United Nations’ subsequent report on the status of human trafficking around the globe has one definite conclusion: human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children and women is on the rise, with victims frequently being brought to the United States and Mexico.
